I have to admit, I never thought of forgetting as a shadow energy in our lives! As usual, the Gene Keys continue to open my eyes to the different aspects of our collective healing.


Gene Key 33 is a transformative journey that takes us from the Shadow of Forgetting through the Gift of Mindfulness to the Siddhi of Revelation. This path offers profound insights into how we can live more consciously and purposefully.


The Shadow of Forgetting


At its core, the Shadow of Forgetting represents a disconnection from our personal history and experiences. It is why we often want to keep the past in the past and why we try to block out painful memories. This shadow can manifest in several ways:


Emotional Avoidance: We might suppress painful memories or emotions, leading to a lack of growth and understanding.

Repetitive Patterns: By ignoring past lessons, we can find ourselves stuck in cycles of behavior that don’t serve us.

Mental Clutter: In today’s fast-paced world, information overload can overwhelm us, causing a loss of focus and clarity.


Sound familiar?! Forgetting creates a barrier to our full potential, keeping us from learning from the past and fully engaging with the present. If we want to get out of the shadow of forgetting, we have to step into a life with more mindfulness.

The Gift of Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the bridge that helps us move beyond forgetting. It involves being present and fully aware of our thoughts, emotions, and surroundings. Here’s why mindfulness is crucial:


Heightened Awareness: By paying attention to our inner and outer worlds, we gain clarity and insight.

Emotional Balance: Mindfulness practices help reduce stress and anxiety, promoting emotional well-being.

Authentic Connections: Being present enhances our relationships, allowing for deeper empathy and understanding.


Cultivating Mindfulness

Mindfulness is fairly simple. All it requires is for you to be fully present in the moment. When you are brushing your teeth, fully focus on brushing your teeth. When you are spending time with a loved one, be there in the moment and not distracted by your phone and constantly running internal monologue.


It also goes deeper into being mindful of others. You may need to express some difficult feelings to a loved one, but are you being mindful if this is truly the right moment to share?


Mindfulness has lots of different layers and when we are talking about this gene key it is also being mindful of your past. If we don't take the time to reflect mindfully then we are bound to miss some of the lessons in life. When we forget the past we are doomed to repeat it.


These are practices that will help you cultivate more mindfulness in your daily life:

1. Meditation Practice: Dedicate time each day to sit quietly, focusing on your breath or a mantra.

2. Mindful Breathing: During moments of stress, take slow, deep breaths to center yourself.

3. Body Scan: Regularly check in with your body, noticing sensations without judgment.

4. Gratitude Journaling: Write down things you are grateful for to foster a positive mindset.

An interesting aspect of mindfulness can come from taking time to retreat. From my perspective as an American, we aren't taught about the value or practice of retreat. These days there are a wide variety of "retreats" all over the world that we can take part in but I feel most of the population doesn't truly understand why a retreat is so important.


Retreating is a vital component of the Gene Key 33 journey. It’s about stepping back to reflect and integrate our experiences, allowing us to gain new perspectives and insights.


We can't always take off to fly halfway around the world for a peaceful retreat so here are some practical ideas of how you can implement time to mindfully pause and retreat.


1. Digital Detox: Set aside time to unplug from technology and reconnect with nature or yourself.

2. Nature Immersion: Spend time in a natural setting, allowing the peace and beauty to rejuvenate your spirit. Leave your phone at home or in the car.

3. Personal Retreat Days: Dedicate a day to solitude, meditation, and self-reflection, away from daily distractions.


Retreating provides the space needed for introspection and growth, leading to profound personal revelations. Take a moment to consider how you could create more time for this in your life.


The Siddhi of Revelation

Revelation is the ultimate expression of Gene Key 33. It’s the moment when deeper truths and insights emerge, offering guidance and clarity. This state of awareness allows us to see the bigger picture and understand our life’s purpose.
